Cops probed for allegedly assaulting bar owner, clients

KRAAIFONTEIN – IPID is investigating Western Cape police officers who allegedly assaulted a bar owner and her customers. 
The incident took place in Fisantekraal last Sunday.
The officers are also accused of stealing money from the establishment.
No arrests were made on the day of the operation.
Beverly Hills Tavern’s owner, Elmarie Witbooi, says this isn’t the first time officers raided her business.
She believes she’s being unfairly targeted and extorted by local police.
